Sodimac and Maestro delivered a symbolic check to Fe y Alegría for the program “Haciendo Escuela” (“Doing School”), developed in favor of our II.EE. and part of the Falabella Group social responsibility initiatives.

Part of this contribution was made possible through the campaign “Conectándonos con Alegría” (Connecting with Alegría), which contributed to getting the funds that allowed the campaign to reach and surpass its goal of getting 5,555 tablets for girls, boys, and adolescents for their continued education.

The donation was made virtually on April 22nd by Sra. Rossina Castagnola, HR Manager of Sodimac and Maestro, to Father Ernesto Cavassa, S.J., General Director of Fe y Alegría Perú.

Father Cavassa, S.J. was grateful for this donation, which constituted a step forward to close digital divides and achieve the possibility for more students throughout the country to access quality education. “My sentiment toward Grupo Falabella (The Falabella Group) is gratitude for collaborating: meaning, for acting, and doing together.”

On the other side, Castagnola acknowledged the work that Fe y Alegría has accomplished in the country and pledged to continue promoting initiatives that will benefit educational communities, including technical training and home improvement courses for teachers and parents.

“Haciendo Escuela” (“Doing School”) is a program implemented by companies part of the Falabella Group in Peru (Saga Falabella, Hipermercados Tottus, Banco Falabella, Sodimac and Maestro) to provide economic aid, infrastructure improvement, volunteer resources, and workshop trainings at the Educational Institutions of Fe y Alegría.
